We are sad to announce that on April 22, 2021, at the age of 90, Basil Vander Helm of Sioux Center, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Helm and Carrie Vander Helm (Janssen); and his brother George Vander Helm (Vivian). He is survived by: his sibling Hawarden; his wife Lavina Vander Helm of Sioux Center; his children, Sharon Miller (Gregg) of Sioux Center and Warren Vander Helm (Barbara) of Sioux Center; his sister-in-law Ramona Vander Helm of Akron, IA; his stepsister Bertha Sjaarda (Marv) of Paullina, IA; his siblings, Henry and Marie Obbink (Henry); and his stepfather John Ter Haar. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
The Vander Helm family prefer memorials be directed to Sioux Center Hospice or the Sioux Center Health foundation.
