He was predeceased by: his parents, Garrett Zonnefeld and Jennie Zonnefeld (Bakker); his wife Esther Van Veldhuizen; and his brothers-in-law, Henry Gene Van Veldhuizen, Ivan Van Veldhuizen and Charles Bosma.
He is survived by: his son Gordon Zonnefeld (Connie) of Sheldon, IA; his grandchildren, Carrie Van Stryland (Carl) of Sioux Falls, SD and Kevin Zonnefeld (Cassie) of Minneapolis, MN; his daughter Norma Schutte (David) of Rushmore, MN; his grandchildren, Rebecca Wellenstein (Tim) of Centerville, SD, Laura Larson (Andrew) of Rushmore, MN and Mark Schutte (Sydney) of Rushmore, MN; his siblings, Joyce Bosma of Shawano, WI and Garry Zonnefeld (Delores) of Sioux Center, IA; and also, Jeane Van Veldhuizen, Harriet Van Veldhuizen of Sanborn, IA and Marilynn De Boer (Dale) of Sibley, IA. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
