He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Mae Atterberry (Galbraith) and Woodrow Atterberry; his parents-in-law, Kennard and Gretchen Tompkins; and his brother-in-law Kevin Tompkins (Carolyn Atterberry).
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Tompkins Atterberry; his children, Erin, Jason Atterberry of Marshalltown, IA and Jordan Atterberry (Annie) of Altoona, IA; his grandchildren, Kate Atterberry of Omaha, NE, Cade and Natalie Atterberry of Urbandale, IA; his sisters, Diane Fulton (Leroy) of Burkburnett, TX and Betty Cecil of Zionsville, IN; his sisters-in-law, Cathy Brink (Paul) of Farragut, IA and Kathy Hall (Dave) of Farragut, IA; and his nieces and nephews, Laura Stepp (Earl) of Houston, TX, Cindy Johnson (Brett) of Humble, TX, Amy Cecil of Zionsville, IN, Matt Cecil (Catherine) of Lake City, UT, Jeremy Tompkins (Tara) of Shenandoah, IA and Tiffany Hanson (Kevin) of Shenandoah, IA. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, many friends.
