He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Holmes and Inez Holmes (Falk); his wife Clara Holmes; his sister Elmarie; his brother-in-law Dale Irvin; and his brother Marlin Holmes.
He is survived by: his cousin Richard Holmes; his children, David Holmes (Danette) of Prescott, AZ, Sandra Swope of Shenandoah, IA and Daniel Holmes (Connie) of Shenandoah, IA; and his grandchildren, Erin Bauer (Dillon) and Alex Holmes (David Frazier).
