He was predeceased by: his parents, Conrad Balt and Nellie Balt (Van Meeteren); his wife Henrietta "Toots" Van Ravenswaay; his great grandchild Reegan Drew Roelfs; his siblings-in-law, Gerrit and Cynthia Van Ravenswaay (Mulder); his brothers, Henry (Cynthia Balt), Edwin (Ann Balt) and Richard (Marianne Balt); his siblings-in-law, Richard, Wilmina Van Ravenswaay, Madeline Vander Zwaag, Loren and Lela Van Heuvelen; and his nephew Larry Van Heuvelen.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne Allen, Pixie Balt (Bloemendaal) of Hospers, Iowa, Marcia Renae Balt of Sheldon, Jerry Evan and Brenda Balt (Van Beek) of Sheldon; his grandchildren, Angela Roelfs (Andrew) of Sioux Center, Ashley Balt of Sheldon and Travis Balt of Orange City, Iowa; his great grandchildren, Arabelle, Amara and Aven Roelfs; his brother-in-law Peter L. Vander Zwaag; his brother Cort; and his sister-in-law Gertrude Victoria. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
