He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Janet; his daughters, Tammy Heibult (Scott) of George, IA, Valarie Schoo (Jerry) of George, IA and Katie Koopman (Dean Rosenboom) of George, IA; his grandchildren, Ashley Delaney (Daniel) of Lake Park, IA and David Schoo of Mobridge, SD; his close friend Vicki Hanline; his great grandchildren, Aiden, Trenten Gibson, Stella and Gerrit Hoogendoorn; his siblings-in-law, Carol Christians, Hazel Martens (Joe) and Silas Geerdes (Maxine); his half-siblings, Lynda Curnow (Gary) of Warrington, OR, Linda Kruger of Worthington, MN and Paul Koopman, Jr. of Vacaville, CA; his mother Edith Koopman of Worthington, MN; his pet Sadie; his father Leroy Johnson; his stepfather Paul Koopman; his half-siblings, Paulette Koopman (McKenna) and Rocky Johnson; his parents-in-law, Theodore and Caroline Geerdes; his granddaughter Krystal Schoo; and his brother-in-law Roger Christians. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers family wish memorials which will be directed at a later date.
