He was predeceased by: his parents, Lola Ella Adkins (Peterson) and Orvel Adkins; his siblings, Bud, Gerald, Wayne, Jean, Geraldine, Dorothy and Lucille; his in-laws, Marvin "Pork" and Evelyn Umbach (White); and his siblings-in-law, Tom Umbach (Janice), Carla Handke and Diane Fundermann (Wayne).
He is survived by: his wife Janice Adkins of Oto, IA; his sons, Gene Adkins (Connie) of Pierson, IA and Tim Adkins of Anthon, IA; his grandchildren, Kyle Adkins, Alicia Adkins, Rebecca Jaacks, Rachel Adkins and Ashley Schmidt; his brother William "Bill" Adkins (Linda) of Sloan, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Ed Umbach (Christa) of California, Marilyn Horton (Steve) of Sioux City, IA, Shelia Lansink (Paul) of Anthon, IA and Becky Verschoor (Todd) of Anthon, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
