It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Eugene Gleaves of Oakland, Iowa, who passed away on September 9, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Neal Gleaves and Flora Cordelia Gleaves (Carley); his wife Gloria Ardelle Miller; his sisters, Irene Merk and Olive Keast; his siblings-in-law, William Merk, Oscar Keast, Donald Eyler, Maurice "Buz" Miller, Hazel Miller and Barbara Bird; his grandson Daniel Gleaves; and his granddaughter-in-law Samantha Gleaves.
He is survived by: his sons, Mike Gleaves of Avoca, IA, Jeff Gleaves (Jean) of Kelseyville, CA and Terry Gleaves (Amy) of Oakland, IA; his daughter-in-law Leslie Gleaves of Harlan, IA; his siblings-in-law, Doris Eyler of Council Bluffs, IA, Delford "Jeep" and Ruth Miller; his grandchildren, Dana, Megan, Timothy, Evan (Kassie), Alex (Emerald) and Grace; and his great grandchildren, Cash, Wyatt, Vanessa, Ashton, Everett, Kallen and AJ. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
