He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Coats and Grace Coats; and his spouse Marjorie F. Thicksten.
Burial with military honors will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Gideons.
