He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert D. Kistler and Wilma C. Kistler (Rodgers); his wife Ruth; his granddaughter Sonja Williams; and his great grandchild Nicholas.
He is survived by: his children, Charles Kistler (Linda) of Danielsville, GA, Arthur Kistler (Mary) of Iowa City, Robert Kistler of West Branch and Erika Turvin (Phil) of Farmington, NM. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Bird House, Hospice Home of Johnson County.
