He was predeceased by: his uncles, John and Peter; and his aunt Linda. He is survived by: his parents, Larry Meister and Delores Meister of Solon; and his sister Julie of North Liberty.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Bird House of Iowa City.
