He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. Koll and Emma Koll (Schafer); his wife Patricia A. Grunder; his son Craig E. Koll; and his sister Nida Tillman.

He is survived by: his children, Christine Koll Manhart (Michael) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Cary Koll of Glenwood, Iowa; and his daughter-in-law Wendy Carlson Koll of Jackson, WY. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous or Zion Lutheran Church.
