He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clarence "Bruno" and Alta Maud Alloway (Bond); and his daughter Sandra Trombley. He is survived by: his wife Donna Godden-Alloway of Muscatine; his children, Brian Alloway (Mari) of Muscatine, Brenda Dahnke (Jeff) of Muscatine, Laura Alloway of Muscatine and Jeannette Martin (Chris) of Burlington, Vermont; his stepchildren, Jennifer Noble (Chad) of Sioux Falls, SD and Keith Radig (Meredith) of Sioux City; and his brother Merlin Alloway of Muscatine. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Melvin's name.
