He was predeceased by: his son Stephen; and his wife Carol P. Sywassink. He is survived by: his sons, Eric Gatzke (Yvonne) of Parker and Michael Gatzke of Muscatine.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be sent to the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street, Muscatine, IA 52761. The donations will be given to the Mayo Clinic in his name for continuing Cardiac and Cancer research programs.
