He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman Thorpe and Nellie Victoria Pasdach Thorpe; his wife Phyllis Lorene James; his children, Barry Dean Thorpe and Nancy Lee Berta; his siblings, Gilbert, Robert, Chuck, June and Delano; and his son-in-law Douglas Daniel Erickson.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila L Erickson (Ray Wendt) of Muscatine and Jack L Thorpe Jr. (Vicky) of Muscatine; his sister Pearl Bahr; and his daughter-in-law Sally Thorpe (late Barry Dean). He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Honor Guard of Muscatine City Inc. in Jack's honor.
