She was predeceased by: her parents, Gregory M. Hazer and Violet E. Hazer; her brother Gary M. Hazer; and her former husband John Goedken. She is survived by: her children, Edith, Paul (Beth), Mary, Brian (Jennifer), Roger, Mark and Dean.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Dubuque Carnegie-Stout Public Library in memory of Edith J. Goedken.
