He was predeceased by: his wife Doris J. Metzger; and his sister June Cracker. He is survived by: his children, Herschel (Irene Smith Fletcher), Carrie Schuhow (Randy) and Cathie Adkins (Gary); his grandchild Lyndsay; his great grandchild Hannah; his grandchild Kayte (Vaidas); his great grandchildren, Ellis, Davi and Iva; his grandson Joe (Katie); his children, Dori, Drew, CJ and Kimberly (Morgan); and his granddaughter Nora Jean.
Memorials may be made to the Muscatine County Honor Guard and/or Alzheimer's Association.
