He was predeceased by: his parents, Deacon Robert Carl Sr. and Maryrose T. Brown Carl; and his sister-in-law Patricia Safley. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Ann; his children, Sara Kauffman (Michael Lihs) of Wapello, Sandi Jones of Muscatine and Brian Carl (Nicole) of Muscatine; his grandchildren, Trey, Anthony, Jobi, Jace and Matthew; his great grandchild Isaiah; his siblings, Robert Carl Jr. (Su) of Hawaii, Greg Carl (Peggy Sue) of Davenport, Tony Carl (Deb) of Muscatine and Amy Brockert (Jim) of Muscatine; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Safley (Beverly) of Muscatine and David Safley of Muscatine. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
