He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Smith and Omie Smith (Weitzel); his wife Linda; his brothers, Heiny Weitzel, Richard and Kenny Smith; his siblings-in-law, Jay, Johnnie Waslick, Charles Lybarger and Alice Smith; and his son-in-law Mike Johanns.
He is survived by: his daughters, Shellie Bakker (Brian) and Shannon Dodd (Mark); his grandchildren, Tyler Johanns (Cari), Jared Johanns (Amanda), Maddie, Emily and Sarah Dodd; his great grandchildren, Trey, Carter, Tiara, Ciara Johanns and Wesley Johanns; his siblings, Larry Smith (Barb), David Smith (Julie), Beverly Lybarger (Lee), Donna Smith (Joe), Marilyn Sporing (Chuck) and Carolyn Pedelty (Marty); and his sisters-in-law, Garianne Fuller, Devvy Waslick and Darlene Weitzel.
