He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Arndt and Helen Arndt (Stoltenberg); his wife Darlene (Shepherd); his grandson Alexander Arndt-Kohlway; his brothers, Donald and Charles Arndt; his former wife Marguerite (Siegrist); his sisters-in-law, Lois Arndt and Kay Arndt; his parents-in-law, Wes, Sharlene Beenken, Violet, Buford Christensen, Foster "Bing" Myers, Kenneth Shepherd and Dalton Francis; and his nephew Donald Arndt, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Pam Olson (Richard) and Sandi Arndt-Kohlway (Chris); his grandsons, Nathan, Brett Olson and Nicholas Arndt-Kohlway; his sisters-in-law, Charlene Francis, Gail Schroeder (Jim), Mary Shepherd and Sandy Myers; and his niece Connie Pederson.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, memorials may be left in Robert's honor to IAFF Local 41, 350 5th St SW, Mason City, IA 50401, or Humane Society of North Iowa.
