She was predeceased by: her husband James Chalstrom (Jim). She is survived by: her children, Anne (Minneapolis) and David; her grandson Gavin James Chalstrom of Atlantic Beach, FL.; her sister Dr. Norma Cook Everist; and her nephews, Joel, Kirk and Mark Everist.

Memorial contributions in her name can be made to Wartburg College Choir or Lutheran Services of Iowa (LSI).
