She was predeceased by: her parents, Cassius Shoemaker and Blanche Shoemaker (Knutson); her siblings, Dr. Bryce Shoemaker and Shirley Broad; her siblings-in-law, Eva Shoemaker, Leona Standridge, Vince Albrecht and Henry Standridge; and her parents-in-law, Richard and Frieda Schmidt.
She is survived by: her husband Norman; her daughters, Rebecca Regnet (David), Ellen Kay (Steve) and Debra Hoppman (Michael); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Oeltjenbruns (Matthew Sonnemann), Sarah Kessler (Casey), James Kay (Cami), Jason Kay (Abbi), Daniel Hoppman (Michelle René), Molly Hoppman and Leah Hoppman; her great grandchild Emery Kay; her stepgranddaughters, Rachelle Regnet and Gabrielle Regnet; and her sister-in-law Doris Albrecht. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Linda Schmidt with the intention of donating the funds to St. James Lutheran Church, MercyOne North Iowa Hospice and the NIACC Foundation.
