It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darlene Phyllis Litterer of Maquoketa, Iowa, who passed away on May 13, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schwarz and Edna Schwarz (Olson); her husband Kenneth Litterer; her siblings, LaVerne, Don, Vernon Schwarz and Joyce Schwarz; and her grandson Nathan Bruns.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Bales (Don) of Sabula, IA, Sheryl (Dennis), Bob Bauer (Kathy) of Preston, IA, Julia Bruns (Bob) of Iowa City, IA, Wendy Winegar (Craig) of Maquoketa, IA, Carolyn Clark (Danny) of Maquoketa, IA, Arlen Bauer (Vonda) of Mack, CO, Luann Ehrler of Maquoketa, IA and Colleen Zschiegner (Roland) of Tipton, IA; her stepchildren, Mike Litterer of Ft. Madison, IA, Jennie DuPont of Balmerton, Theiann Scherby (Art) of Kakabeka Falls, Ontario and Jay Litterer (Jill) of Bettendorf, IA; and her brother Dale Schwarz (Judy) of McClausland, IA.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Jackson County Historical Society, Hospice of Jackson County, or a charity of the donor's choice.
