Audrey J. Upmeyer Obituary

We are sad to announce that on December 23, 2020, at the age of 92, Audrey J. Upmeyer of Maquoketa, Iowa, born in Freeport, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin H. Lenz and Ruth L. Lenz (Farnam); her husband William "Bill" Upmeyer; and her niece Anne Beermann. She is survived by: her children, David Upmeyer (Peg) of Grosse Pointe, MI, Cathryn Rickard (William) of Smyrna, NY and Steven Upmeyer (Jane) of Indianapolis, IN; her granddaughters, Julie Lewis (Johnathan), Dianne Larson (Shawn), Amy Smith (Josh) and Staci Laski (Jack); her great grandchildren, Meredith Jane Smith, Meyer Daniel Smith, Margot Jean Laski, Ffion Audrey Lewis, Nesta Wynn Lewis and Clark Gilgamesh Larson; her brother James Lenz (Susanne) of Chicago, IL; her nephews, Robert Upmeyer (Nancy), Eric Upmeyer and Carl Upmeyer (Rhonda); and her nephew-in-law Roger Beermann.

Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa, First Lutheran Church, or to the William and Audrey Upmeyer Family Scholarship Fund (through the Community Foundation of Jackson County).

“I have very fond memoriesof Audrey. She was a lovely lady. I belonged to the same Bible Circle with her. We spoke via phone often while she was at Clover Ridge. My sympathy to her family. I am giving a memorial to the First Luthean Church in her memory. Betty Paulsen ( No thnak-you needed)”
