He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Lovell Crook and Mary Miranda Crook (Miller); his sisters, Mary Margaret Crook and Carol Jeanne Crook; his parents-in-law, John and Dorothy Goodsell; his son-in-law Rick Shilling; and his grandson Dakota Alan Crook.
He is survived by: his former wife Catherine Rae Van Gilder; his wife Cathy; his children, Rebecca "Becky" Shilling of Knoxville and Christopher Crook (Cleta) of Attica; his grandchildren, Tony Shilling (Katie), Casie Vernon (Seth), Cari Wright (Ryan), Caitlyn Shilling-Carter (Wyatt), Terri Haines, Joshua Sprague (Michelle), Dylan Roberts, Cole Crook, Tanner Des Planque, Destini Garrett (Christian), Kaya Des Planque and Alexys Crook; and his siblings, Ruth Ann Hines of Urbandale and John "JC" Crook of Knoxville.
