He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Barnett and Anna Mae Barnett (Kribbs); his siblings, Clifford Barnett, J. D. Barnett, Naomi Rutledge and Bertha Lawrence; and his son-in-law Dale Weber.

He is survived by: his wife Jane Barnett of Jesup, IA; and his children, Richard Barnett (Beth) of Nisswa, MN, Rob Barnett (Kelly) of Cedar Falls, IA, Diana Kelly (Tim) of Jesup, IA and Brenda Weber of Jesup, IA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials will be directed to St. Athanasius Catholic Church.
