She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob B. Schmitz and Laura Schmitz (Phillips); her husband Ronald Michael Ehr; and her sisters, Celeste Schares and Mardell Schmitz.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Balko of Cottage Grove, MN and Michael Ehr (Susan) of Jesup, IA; and her brother Ray Schmitz (Marian) of Jesup, IA.. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
Memorials will be directed to St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup and the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
