It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry J. Schmit of Jesup, Iowa, born in Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on June 9, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert Schmit and Rosella Anna Schmit (Fischels); his nephew Ryan Keegan; his father-in-law Richard Venem; and his brother-in-law Rick Venem.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Schmit of Jesup; his children, Matthew Schmit (Stacy) of Bettendorf, IA and Susie Phillips (Tom) of Jesup; his grandchildren, Mariella, Oscar, Daniel, Margaret, Joanna and Pearl; and his siblings, Kenny Schmit (Carolyn) of Gilbertville, Patricia Becker (Richard) of Jesup, Connie Keegan (Dick) and Linda Purdy (Nick) of Gilbertville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the church and Cedar Valley Hospice.
