She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joseph Shadwell and Marion Shadwell (Kenny); her husband John Herbert Marshall; her daughter Doreen Rowland of New York; her daughter-in-law Lori Marshall of Oelwein; her grandchildren, Paige Marshall of Cedar Rapids, John Marshall of Cedar Rapids, Greg Rowland of Texas and Connor Rowland of New York; her niece Diane Norris of New York; her son John Daniel "Dan" Marshall; and her brother Frankie Shadwell.
