It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delma M. Schares of Jesup, Iowa, born in Ashton, Iowa, who passed away on January 29, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Niichel and Margaret Catherine Niichel (Krogman); her husband Herbert John Schares; her son Robert Schares; and her siblings, Eileen Frost, Alice Federspiel, Lois Corkery, Earl Niichel and Eugene Niichel.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Pat Esch of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sue Foster of Waterloo, IA, Jane Alwine (Joel) of Burnsville, MN, Barb O'Brien (Mike) of Lakeville, MN and David Schares (Jane) of Longmont, CO; and her siblings, Regina Niichel of Roseville, MN and William "Bill" Niichel (Mary Ann) of West Pueblo, CO.. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; seven step-great grandchildren; two step-great great grandchildren.
