He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Peter Monat and Mary Magdalen Monat (Weber); his brothers, Jim and Tom Monat; and his sister-in-law Donna Monat.
He is survived by: his former wife Patricia Elizabeth Ehr; his wife Pat Monat of Jesup; his daughters, Jackie Steenblock (Adam) of Jesup, Megan Rosch (Jake) of Fayetteville, AR and Julia Monat of Mineral, VA; his grandchildren, Adalyn, Peter, Oliver Steenblock and Elizabeth Rosch; his siblings, Ted Monat (Cindy) of Independence, IA, Tony Monat (Gertie) of Lansing, IA, Vicki Link (Kevin) of Waddell, AZ and Angie Floyd (Dave) of Jesup; and his sister-in-law Nancy Monat of Traer, IA..
Due to the Covid – 19 pandemic, family services will be observed at this time with a Public Memorial Service to be scheduled at a future date.
Memorials will be directed to Pheasants Forever – Black Hawk County Chapter #58; Iowa DNR Trumpeter Swan Restoration Project in care of Dave Hoffman; and to the Don Bosco High School Football Program in Gilbertville, IA.
