He was predeceased by: his parents, Gail Alvin Schutte and Mary Imojean Schutte (Whitney); his wife Kathleen Jane Dlouhy; his mother-in-law Malinda Dlouhy; and his siblings-in-law, Bruce Tokheim, Joel Decker and Marlene Penfold.
He is survived by: his son Christopher Schutte (Lori); his grandchildren, Katey Niichel (Jeff) of Jesup, Kayla Maynard (Dan) of Jesup, Kalista, William, Ruby, Phoenix Schutte, Maisie, Carsyn, Kash Niichel, Theo, Emme, Otto and Lela Maynard; his siblings, Vicki Decker of Prior Lake, MN, Debra Tokheim of Prescott, WI, Nancy Ober (Steve) of Garden Ridge, TX and Kent Schutte (Lynn) of Cambridge, MN; and his brothers-in-law, Ron Dlouhy (Julie) of Newton, IA and Al Penfold of Clear Lake, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
