He is survived by: his wife LaVonne; his daughters, Mary Ann Sprague of Cedar Rapids and Barbara Lanning (Phillip) of Parker; and his stepchildren, Kathleen Clapsaddle (Ron) of St. Bernardo, Marcia Buhr (Bill) of Rutledge, Marty Toale of Independence, Ellen Carroll (Dan) of Vinton, Julie Chmelka (Mark) of Sioux City, Dean Ohrt (Linda) of Cedar Falls, John Ohrt (Sandy) of Santee and Mark Ohrt (Janet) of Maple Grove. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
