He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Lenn Hayward and Phyllis Catherine Hayward (Weber); his wife Melinda "Linda" Susan Corkery; his sons, Blake Hayward (Jessica) of Independence and Cameron Hayward (Briana) of Jesup, IA; his grandchildren, McKenzie Hayward, Logan Hayward and Emmerson Michael Hayward; his siblings, David Hayward (Claudette) of Columbus, IN and Barbara Van Horn of Independence; his son Justin Hayward; and his brother-in-law Burt Van Horn. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

Masks and social distancing will be required.

Memorials will be directed to the Independence Athletic Booster Club.
