It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marilyn Jean Higdon of Independence, Iowa, who passed away on October 23, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold James and Ila Mae Beatty (Ritchie); her husband Robert Earnest Higdon; and her daughter Linda. She is survived by: her children, Pam (Larry) of Independence, Neil Higdon of Independence, Irene (Ross) of Independence, Jessie Higdon of Waterloo and Sam Higdon of Texas. She is also survived by many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required. The family asks that those in attendance wear a mask at the funeral home.
