He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles J. Butters and Emma Josephine Butters (Elder). He is survived by: his daughters, Angela Johnson of Des Moines, Kathleen Cabalka (Mike Williamson) of Independence and Maribeth Butters of Independence; and his grandchildren, Leah Wroten (Nick) of Independence, Jillian Johnson (Chris) of Davenport and Michael Cabalka (Heidi Lindquist) of Waterloo.
