It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Wessels (Independence, Iowa), who passed away on July 9, 2018, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph B. and Martha K. Wessels (Koopman); his brother Phil Wessels; and his grandchildren, Erin Wessels, Emily Webster and Trent Phillips.

He is survived by: his spouses, Carol Christoph and Christina Wessels; his children, Dawn Wessels (Dan Martinson) of Independence, IA, Julie Wessels (Kevin Lange), Bruce Wessels (Cindy), Brian Wessels, John Wessels and James Wessels; his stepchildren, Cory Wilson (Jill) of Independence, IA and Emily Topliff (Jamell); his sisters, Doris Wiskus of Colesburg, IA and Nancy Goerdt; and his sister-in-law Doris Wessels of Epworth, IA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren.
