He is survived by: his mother Evelyn Julia Hoover (Franck) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his former wife Mary Deborah Esch; his siblings, Jim Hoover (Shareefah) of Vancouver, WA and Tammy Pink (Alan) of Cedar Rapids; his son Barry Charles Hoover (Katie) of Independence; and his grandchildren, Dalton Charles and Blayke Ryann Hoover.

Memorials may be directed to Hoover Wesleyan Church in Walker, IA or the American Legion, Independence.
