He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold James and Ila Mae Beatty (Ritchie). He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his daughters, Debra Magsamen (Donald) of Independence, Vickie Jetmund of Independence and Cheryl Birchard (Steve) of Independence; and his sister Marilyn Higdon of Independence. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
