He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Friedrichsen and Marie Friedrichsen (Indorf); his parents-in-law, Theodore and Hattie Bergmann; his siblings, Bob Friedrichsen (Lois), Pearl Henrichsen (Ervin) and Dorothy Thornhill (Darwin); and his mothers-in-law, Betty Voss (Don) and Phyllis Hammer.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Dan Friedrichen (Alice), Brian Friedrichsen (Deb), Cindy Scherff (Bob) and Marilyn Hurley (Lynn); his grandchildren, Sara Friedrichsen, Stacy Brown (Chris), Brett Friedrichsen (Allisa), Joe Friedrichsen, Justin Scherff, Kristin Henry (Adam), Brandon Scherff (Jenni), Megan Scherff, Rachel Hurley (Andrew Paulson), Laura Hurley, Luke Hurley (Katelyn) and Amy Hurley; his great grandchildren, Hannah, Logan, Austin Brown, Carli, Lane, Colt Friedrichsen, Jackson, Grayson, Kennedy Scherff, Owen, Emma Henry and Easton Scherff; his brother Cliff Friedrichsen (Florence); and his parents-in-law, Ruth Dorman (Gary) and Alvin Hammer. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family will not be present at the visitation, and in accordance to the guidelines set for the state of Iowa, crowds will be limited to 15 people or less inside of the funeral home at a time, masks will be required, and social distancing will be practiced.
