He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Ashing and Ellen Ashing (Taylor); his brother William; his sister-in-law Doris Ashing; his son-in-law Henry Hovenga; and his parents-in-law, Henry and Elizabeth Hauersperger.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Hauersperger; his children, Robert Ashing (Pam), Susan Hovenga and Steven Ashing (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah Ashing, Mary, Laura Hovenga, John and Reese Ashing.
