She was predeceased by: her parents, George Jacob Rank and Freela Lou Hicklin Rank; her husband Eugene Jordan Merck; her son Lynn Merck; her brother Bernard Rank (Lucille); and her children-in-law, David Schlesselman and Vonda Gooding.
She is survived by: her children, Rebecca, Becky Schlesselman of Grinnell, Jo Wiley (Steve) of New Sharon and Dwaine Gooding of West Burlington; her daughter-in-law Donna Merck of Kalona; her grandchildren, Ray Schlesselman, Kathy Bilgrav (Henning), Jeannie Zulauf (Christian), Elonda Eischen (Adam), Melissa Spurgeon (Clint), Chad Wiley, Ryan Merck (Kate), Michelle Merck and Erik Gooding (Beth); and her brothers, Daryl Rank (Nell) and David Rank (Nancy). She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hammond Center, Heifer Project, Montezuma United Methodist Church or the Grinnell United Methodist Church.
