She was predeceased by: her father Dearn Lee Bryan; her grandmother Frances Brummitt; and her uncle Russ Blattner. She is survived by: her mother Bertha Louise Bryan (Blattner) of Grinnell; her husband Joe Derby of Grinnell; her daughters, Temesha Derby of Kansas City and Kapria Derby of Grinnell; her siblings, Danette Moore (Tim) of Gower and Don Bryan (Pam) of Gilman, Iowa; and her stepsister Kami Horton-Smith of Independence, Missouri..
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Grinnell Area Arts Council, to benefit the junior play, and mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.
