It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brian Thompson of Grinnell, Iowa, who passed away on July 3, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Brian Thompson to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Thompson and Nedra Thompson; his parents-in-law, Doris and Leroy Calvin; and his brother-in-law Earl Kaisand.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Calvin; his daughters, Karie Smith (Nathan) of Marshfield, WI, Jody Margene (Aaron) of Birmingham, AL and Sara Fincham (Brian) of Ankeny, IA; his siblings, Debbie Buck (Ed), Melinda Kaisand, Jolene Petersen (Steve), Susan Cole (Larry) and Bruce Thompson (Sharon); and his sisters-in-law, Sharon Boggess (Rod) and Gina Defalco (Torey). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Calvary Baptist Church or to Iowa Regular Baptist Camp and mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112. Brian gave the gift of life to over 50 people by organ and tissue donation through Iowa Donor Network.
