It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Smith of Greenfield, Iowa, who passed away on September 19, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Smith to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lyle Eaton and Ruth Van Eaton (Kneller); her son Dan; her brother Burton Van Eaton; and her brother-in-law Keith Nielsen.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Smith of Greenfield; her son David Smith of Greenfield; and her sister Patty Nielsen of Kansas City, Kansas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
Visitation: The family will greet friends on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield from 6:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family and funeral home requests masks must be worn and social distancing to be practiced.
Memorials: The family requests no flowers and memorials may be directed to the Betty Smith memorial fund to be established at a later date.
