She was predeceased by: her parents, James Newton and Delilah Margaret Tharp (Knight); her husband Glen Speers; and her siblings, Shirley Dye and James Tharp.
She is survived by: her children, James Speers (Jodie) of Chicago, Jalen Hobbs of Muscatine and Amy McIntyre of Wilton; and her siblings, Debra Walker of Muscatine and David Tharp (Bernice) of Grandview. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
