Elaine Hansch Obituary
Elaine C. Hansch, 87, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, May 7, 2018, at Villa Cottages. A service honoring Elaine's life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family. Elaine C. Wood, the daughter of Francis and Cecelia (Julius) Wood, was born August 20, 1930 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1949. She was married to Kenneth Lyman in 1950, and the couple later divorced. Elaine was united in marriage to Robert E. Nolen in 1984, and he preceded her in death in 1990.
In 1992, Elaine was united in marriage to Donald Hansch and he preceded her in death in 2004. Elaine was a lifelong resident of Fort Dodge except from 1963-1970 when she lived in Nebraska. She was employed for 28 years with Fort Dodge Laboratories, and seven years as a hostess at Best Western Starlite Hotel. Elaine was a life member of V.F.W. Post No. 1856 Auxiliary, BPOE Does #253, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, past president of Alliance, Nebraska Band Association and life member of the Fort Dodge Marine Corps Detachment League.
Elaine is survived by her children, Dennis (Anna) Lyman, British Columbia; Janet Lyman, Colorado; Karen Lyman Wilcox, Fort Dodge; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Cathy, a brother Duane and a sister Normadean.
