He is survived by: his parents, Janice Fortney (Newman) and Charles H. Fortney; his spouse JoAnne Maurer; his daughter Natalie Metcalfe (Jim) of Des Moines, IA; his grandchildren, Stephen and Sarah; and his brother Chuck Fortney of Fort Dodge, IA.
