It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arlis William Barkmeier (Fort Dodge, Iowa), born in Lake City, Iowa, who passed away on July 1, 2018, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Barkmeier and Dorothy Barkmeier (Yingst); and his siblings, Keith Barkmeier, Pat Tapps and Kathy Hendricks.
He is survived by: his wife LaVon; his children, Steven Barkmeier (María) of Port St and LuAnn Baker of Wellesley, MA; his grandchildren, Steven Barkmeier Jr., Mario Barkmeier, Jonathan Netz and Danielle Netz; his great grandchildren, Joe, Morgan, Austin, Alaster, Dana, Diana, Giovana, Betina and Ana; and his daughter-in-law Neli Padilha.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Volunteer Program at Unity Point Health or the Endoscopy Unit at Unity Point Health in Fort Dodge.
