He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Bachman and Maude Bachman (Henry); his siblings, Vivian and Delbert Bachman; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Reinig and Jim Matherson.
He is survived by: his former wife Patricia Porter; his wife Ruth Solomonson; his children, Mark Bachman (Kim), Todd Bachman (Lynn), Joel Bachman (Barbara), Kimberly Bachman and Michael Bachman; his grandchildren, Jacob, CharLee Bachman, Darin, Cari Jane, Jill Bachman, Steven, Rachel Bachman (Jamison Russell), Jessica, Daniel Jackson, Adam and Ryan Bachman; his great grandchildren, Bristol, Jessi Bachman and Aiden Jackson; his stepchildren, Michael Solomonson (Laura) and Debra Acosta (Rick); his stepgrandsons, Craig and Justin Acosta; and his sisters, Maxine Matherson and Darlene Reinig. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 the family has decided to wait until the month of May to have a memorial service which is scheduled for 10:30 A. M., Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St. in Garner.
Memorials may be given to the American Legion at Goodell, Iowa.
